Hypnobirthing

I know what you're thinking..."what a hippie!" Don't knock it. So far, I think we've decided to try this birthing method. It sounds fascinating, but corky at the same time. In fact, during our first class Tim and I couldn't stop giggling about one of the exercises they had us do. I'm pretty sure everyone in the class thinks Tim and I are too immature to even be parents. Stay tuned for more funny stories about this birthing method. :)

I have some friends that have tried it & loved it - me on the otherhand, well I'm a HUGE fan of my epidurals! Good Luck with it!

That sounds perfect! I wish I had found that when I attempted the whole natural thing.

Nanette has a book she read for this. She didn't do the class but read a couple pages from the book and loved this.

Sounds good. The key to birth anyway is kind of working yourself into a trance past the pain (I liked making mmmmm noises - admittedly by the end they morphed into arrrrrrgh noises).

Lol. Not weird at all, it's actually pretty popular here (or at least on everyone's radar as an option). I think also in Utah, no? I thought birth was QUITE painful even with an epidural (I know, I'm a weakling, but there was absolutely NO numbness at any point, or need for coaching on when to push!), but then I have friends who swear birth is completely painless and even "orgasmic" without hypnosis or medication. And then the next day they feel completely back to normal and are running within the week. I'll take them at their word. Whatever works!

Yes, we do think you're hippies - but we love you anyway!!! We can't wait to meet this little guy. Hopefully he won't get hypnotized on the way out!
