YEAR IN REVIEW and NEW NEWS (not in any particular order)

  • Finished my first triathlon with some friends
  • Finished my first half marathon with my sister-in-law Teisha, followed by a couple more with my sis.
  • Gone camping/hiking/biking…etc.
  • Realized I had the cutest dogs ever, but also realized that I don’t want them sleeping in my bedroom anymore (let alone on the bed with us). I was done breathing in their shedded hair all night long.

  • Realized that I suck at softball and should only watch games from here on out.
  • Rediscovered my love for drive-in movie theatres.
  • Watched my hubby ACE his PhD qualifying exams
  • Said goodbye to family that was moving across the country :(
  • Celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary
  • Surprised Tim with a trip to see the Rockies play in Colorado
  • Attended my cute surrogate g-pa’s funeral
  • Hosted a small Thanksgiving dinner at my house and made the turkey
  • Got released from Primary and put into YW’s (that was actually longer than a year ago, but we’ll keep it on the list nonetheless).
  • Bought a new car—love it by the way
  • Went to President Hinckley’s viewing
  • Skied and skied until I was blue in the face (with family of course)
  • Vacated without the hubby (visiting friends in Portland & Phoenix)

(this picture is actually in Utah, not Portland, but aren't we an attractive crew?)

  • Took some fun vacations with the family (Hawaii)
  • Continued to work at the best place ever- Utah Foster Care Foundation
  • Learned how to sew better and actually make items I will use. :)
  • Watched some of my good friends become moms.

  • Watched my brother-in-law and sister-in-law become parents and realized that we too want that for ourselves….
  • Discovered that we’re pregnant and expecting January 25th

This is a horrible picture, because I don't have access to a scanner, but it was taken at my first doctor's appointment at 9 weeks. Our little bambino is now the size of a large peach (compared to this picture, he/she is the size of a grain of rice).

As my sister-in-law, Nikki says, we’re excited to meet baby Tuggus (our two dog’s names put together). We are currently about 14 weeks along and couldn’t be more thrilled about it all. We can’t believe how much we already love this little guy (assuming it’s a boy but we have yet to find out). :)

Past couple weeks

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. Tim and I have both spent time with the youth in our ward up at girl's camp and boy scout's camp. YW's camp was awesome (except for the sleeping aspect) and the girls in my ward are some of the best in the west. When I got home from Girl's camp Tim had cleaned the house from top to bottom. He also had dinner in the crockpot ready for me to push start. Also I've been into sour patch kids and swedish fish lately and he had two huge jars full of them sitting on the counter next to a card, present and some flowers. How cute is my husband?
This past weekend we also took the dogs on a hike up behind bountiful (where you could look down off of the peaks and see Morgan and Bountiful at the same time). It was absolutely beautiful and the dogs always enjoy getting muddy in the outdoors

Does life get any better than this? Seriously look how beautiful Utah is.

Happy Birthday Ka Ka Bug

Ka Ka turned 11 yesterday! Here are a few things about her that some of you may have never known.

1. She was ADDICTED to Barney when she was little and knew EVERY song and dance move.
2. She LOVES hair gel and hair spray and hates it when any fly away strand of hair gets out of place.
3. She is an amazing ballet dancer
4. She is pursing acting and likes to practice her commercials in front of me...which are
hilarious (I think I've heard about Tide and Double Bubble one too many times now).
5. She has the most beautiful blue eyes (that she gets from her daddy)
6. When she was just a babe she burned her arm really bad on a steamer. She wore bandages
on her arm for almost 6 months and she still has a pretty gnarly scar from it.
7. She's silly beyond words.
8. She's a show-off and loves it when she is the center of attention
9. She's extremely spoiled, because she is the baby of the family (I'm guilty of this as well).
10. She has a nephew that is 3 years older than her and she thinks that is pretty rad.
11. She's as skinny as a bean-pod
12. She gives the BEST hugs EVER!
13. She loves science
14. Ever since she was little she has loved making her own "concoctions". We would find her
sitting on the bathroom counter when she was 3 years old playing with wet toilet paper,
lotion, and anything else she could get her hands on. She would tell me it was a new
perfume she was making for me.
15. She is Miss Social-Butterfly and everywhere we go she knows someone and is good friends
with just about everyone.
16. She's a sweetie-pie and I love having her in my life. She makes family outings that much more fun and I enjoy her company. She's going to grow up to be an amazing person and I'm so excited to see what she does with her life. Happy birthday sis--I love you!
