We cannot live without...

... our wooden hammer!
It goes everywhere-- upstairs, downstairs, highchair while eating, restaurants, grocery stores...etc. You name it and it goes! This kid loves his hammer (and Gus does too--if you look closely you'll see the end of the handle chewed up). Hopefully he'll learn how to properly use it and then he can help mommy fix things around the house.

Quick story: the other day while I was working from home I heard some rummaging and I turned around to find Miles almost completely submerged, head first, in his toy box. He was rustling around for something and then all of a sudden he stood up and gave me this huge smile and pulled out his hammer. I sure do love the fact that he loves his manual labour tools.

Big Bro!

Yep! It's true--Miles is going to be a big bro! The age difference--17-ish months! Am I scared out of my mind? Yep! Are we excited beyond all belief? Yep! There-- it's out there! Now you no longer have to wonder why I'm looking slightly pregnant. :)

P.S. I haven't seen that black remote since this picture was taken. I don't know what the stinker did with it.

9 Months

This picture pops up every time Tim calls me on my phone and it just reminds me how little and small Miles once was. I can't believe that used to be my baby-- he's grown up so much!

Just chill-ax'n in a chair all my size
Monkeying around
Hanging with the BFF's, Jack & Grace

9 Month Stats
17 lbs. -- 4th percentile
27 inches -- 10th percentile

Uniformly small and cute as can be!

Leave it to Daddy...

...to dress Miles in an outfit like this.

1. blue socks
2. bright green sweat pants
3. dirty shirt with throw up all over it
4. and a mismatched hat

It's a good thing he looks cute in just about anything.

Meeting the Funcle!

That stands for the "fun" uncle, not the other "f" word--dirty minds! This past weekend uncle Stokes came into town for a skeleton race and he graced us with his presence at Logan's b-day partay and Miles got to meet him for the fist time.

Seeing Stokes made us miss him and his cute family even more than we already do. We know you practically live at a resort in Florida, but we sure do miss you guys in Utah. :(
P.S.--it snowed today!

Weekends...

Weekends have definitely changed since we've had Miles. We've said (temporarily) good bye to climbing and biking together (sort of hard to do with kids, unless you go with other couples and take turns watching each other's children--which we've done). With nap times to take into consideration we usually find ourselves hiking with the pups. This weekend, however, we found ourselves at the Clark Planetarium (more of a playground to Tim than any other kid in there). As Miles gets older and is more aware of his surroundings, it's fun to watch him take it all in. Miles and I sat and watched this ball rollercoaster contraption for almost 30 minutes and anytime I started to walk away he would start whining because he wasn't done watching it yet. All the while Tim was away reading every bit of information involving our solar system. If this is a sign to come, I think Miles might be science guy--just like his daddy.

*sorry about the picture quality--taken on a cell phone.

Air Guitar

While most people are honing their "Rock Band" skills on Wii, we like to practice our air guitar while bathing.

A family that poses together stays together.

Once again my cousin did an awesome job on our family photos. If anyone wants nice and affordable pictures done she's your lady. These are straight from the camera and haven't even been touched up yet. There are so many great pics--I'll post some more later.

Foto Flashback

As I was searching on my computer I came across these from Miles' 10 day photo shoot. I can't believe how tiny every little feature was on him. These are some of my faves from his uncooperative moments.

It is crazy how one picture can bring about so much emotion, but I look at the photo below and beam with gratefulness and love. I think I'm married to the most wonderful man and daddy ever. I love how I still get tingly inside when he kisses me.

I think it is really awesome that Tim and Miles have such a special bond and that they get to spend so much time together.

Comfortable in daddy's arms.

Obsessed

Obsessed is an understatement, because what goes into my child's mouth/tummy is on my mind ALL THE TIME! The last couple of weeks I've been obsessed with making my own baby food. The above picture is hardly 1/5 of what I have stored in my freezer right now. After I was done and all the cubes were ziplocked away I stood back and looked at what I had done--I seriously think I was beaming--I was so proud of myself. It's too funny what makes me proud these days. I've also made apples, plums, carrots, blueberries, melon, cauliflower, and broccoli (of which the last four he can't even eat until he's 8 months old). Miles' fave is apples and butternut squash mixed together and his least favorite is (no surprise here) peas. However, he still eats the peas, but vocalizes his dislike while he swallows--it's pretty darn funny.

Woweee 6 Months?!?!?

I cannot believe where the time has gone. Before I know it he'll be running around making his own rock climbing gear and trying them out on our trees in the backyard (something Tim did when he was 14 years old). There are no other words to describe how we feel about this little guy--the last six months have been the most amazing and memorable ever! I can't imagine our lives without this little peanut. What did we do with our time before he came?!?
This kiddo likes to sit like a big boy...

...stand on his own...

...and play with all of his toys. Playing takes some serious concentration.

Tim has started calling him "blubber chunker butts". Not sure why that nickname has stuck, but Miles giggles when he hears it.

Although this isn't the most attractive picture for Tim or myself I couldn't resist how cute Miles' face looks squooshed up against mine. We just love this kid.

6 Month Stats:
Weight: 15 lbs (9th percentile)
Height: 26 1/4 inches (42nd percentile)

Bountiful Temple

Family pic (minus the ginormous black shedding 100 lb Tug and the annoying ratty matty Gus)

Too cool for school.

Oh Snap! I'm Cute!

My hair is getting longer and curlier just like my daddy's

I like to match my daddy in our twinner Quiksilver shirts and cargo shorts.

I love tummy time and hanging out in my skivvies.

I can't help it--I'm a total lady's man! While I was with mommy at YW's camp I got hit on by the young ladies multiple times. All I have to do is flash my smile and gravitate towards me.

Lastly, I love to smile with my tongue hanging out--it's my signature move (kind of like how Zoolander's sig. move is "blue steel"). It's hard work being good lookin'. "I'm pretty sure there's a lot more in life than being really, really ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is."
