Catching Up!

The past two weeks have been busy with activity. My work put on the annual Chalk Art Festival at the Gateway last weekend and of course my talented sister participated again. Miles and Daddy came down for the festivities and stuck around until all of Miles' smiles and giggles turned into frowns and screams.

Meg did a beautiful portrait of a Pakistani man. She kept saying how unpleased she was with the result, but I always think she rocks the chalk.
Miles rocks the chalk too! When he's not eating it.
A very large mommy and Miles. I look like I'm about to burst at the seams. I can't believe how much weight I've gained with this pregnancy. I can't wait to get back into my normal clothes. Being pregnant or nursing for practically 2 1/2 years now has not been the most fun thing I've ever done. The end result makes it worth it though.
Then this past Friday we visited the Arts festival. Miles loves playing with anything water related. He has absolute no fear of the water and that fears me.
diggin' his c-on-the-c
On Saturday we made our annual summer visit up to Deer Valley to partake in what Tim says is a delicacy to Utah-- the ice cream sandwich dessert. He of course had to take a million pictures of it and send them to all of his friends living far away to provoke jealousy, but I will spare you a picture of that.

However, I won't spare you a picture of my little one's chubby fingers busy at work. Will someone please tell my baby that he's still a baby and that he shouldn't know how to dip french fries into ketchup?

This little kiddo is so difficult to take pictures of because he's always on the go. He thinks it's a game when Tim chases him around with the camera. As you can see I was not into the chasing game-- I was trying to find anywhere to sit in the shade to take my enormous load off. We look forward to our weekends together where school and work take a back seat. We can't wait to get down to New Mexico where we can explore new areas, museums for the kids and enjoy each others company without school interfering.

P.S. my doc is going out of town for two weeks so I'm being induced on Thursday, July 1st. WAHOOOO!

"Tug"

It's such an appropriate name for this animal. He definitely "Tug"s on my heartstrings, bank account, my marriage...etc. This morning Tug underwent surgery due to an electric fence shock collar irritating his neck to the point of severe infection. $1,000 later he is now recovering nicely with many kisses and pats from Miles, belly scratches from Tim and occasional loving glances from me. Before having children Tug was like a child to me. Now-- he's an animal. Things change when you have kids and I thought they never would, but they do. It's a good thing he's the sweetest, most gentle dog you'll ever meet-- AND-- it's a good thing Miles absolutely adores him! Otherwise, I'd be looking for another home for him. I know. I know. You can all call PETA on me now.

New Toy!

We purchased a new toy! It was a long time coming and we're soooo glad we finally took the plunge (into our bank account that is).
Now, we ain't no professionals and don't strive to be, but I certainly love that I can snap the photo without delay and the quality is a bazillion times better than our little old point and shoot.
While momma was away at work yesterday daddy and Miles went to the park to give it a test run. Again, we're still learning the ins and outs of our camera and the fanciness of it, but I can't help but love the photos Tim took of him-- even if they're aren't professional quality.
I love our new toy, but seriously how can a mom not love a new toy that displays the utter cuteness of her child? :)
